Atelierul de Panză is a ViitorPlus-recognized protected entity. Since our decision to establish Atelierul de Panză under the NGO ViitorPlus (Sustainability Association) in 2009, we have maintained (though not officially recognized) the social enterprise status of a protected entity. In practice, in addition to supporting the economic aspects of projects and learning principles of successful business development, we are also actively involved in social affairs: we employ people from disadvantaged groups (people with disabilities) and work with them to create a work environment that promotes diversity and social inclusion.

So, considering our social objective, in 2014 we decided to license ourselves as a protected unit, and our partners and companies who ordered products from Atelierul de Pânză over time understood how important it is to purchase responsibly from an authorized protected unit. And this is how we have acquired over 11 years of experience in the field, promoting the social economy and encouraging companies to purchase products from social enterprises that directly and concretely support the integration of people with disabilities into the labor market.

Additionally, the legislation recognizes the efforts made by licensed shelters and encourages these responsible purchases. Concretely, starting from August 2020, companies and public institutions with more than 50 employees will once again have the possibility to make purchases from units protected by disability tax fund.

According to Law 448/2006 on the protection of people with disabilities, companies have the possibility to make purchases from authorized protected unitsusing half of the disability tax fund.

The conditions are as follows:

– The company has minimum 50 employees;
– The products that the company wants to purchase are made within the protected unit, from the activities of disabled people employed in authorized protected unit;
– Half the amount of taxes on disability it can be used for purchases of goods and services at protected units;
– The protected drive is authorized according to the new legislation (employees with disabilities represent at least 30% of the total number of employees and make up at least 50% of the total number of employees);

How can you purchase our products using disability tax?

Procurement procedure from an authorized secure unit is extremely simple. You need a sales contract, a partnership agreement, the job descriptions of the disabled people who worked on the respective products and a tax invoice certifying the purchase.
We provide you with all these documents, you just have to choose the product based on your needs.

Tax calculation

The amount with which companies can purchase products from authorized protected units is calculated as follows:
The number of places that should have been dedicated to people with disabilities (4% by the total number of employees in that month) x gross minimum wage per country/2;
Example: a company has 100 employees in March and the value of the gross minimum wage for the economy is 2,300 lei;
For this example, the commission is calculated as follows:
4% of the number of employees = 4 positions;
4 positions x 2,300 lei = 9,200 lei (the total value of the disability tax).
The company can use half of that amount purchase products from protected factories (4,600 lei/month)and the other half will be paid to the state budget.
