A vibrant mix of flowers, spiny areolas and geometric lines, our Cactus pattern pays homage to these docile plants with almost feminine curves.
Purple Dress in Cactus Dark Lagoon

A pretty mix of khaki, chick yellow and dark green, our beautiful Cactus Dark Lagoon pattern lends itself to spring quilts.
For this version, our viscose twill was transformed into a purple dress by République du Chiffon.
Elegant and easy to wear, this graceful scoop neck dress praises femininity with its defined waist. Tightened with an elastic, it offers a beautiful fitted effect, while remaining comfortable. Even though the fabric is perfectly opaque, I followed the pattern that recommended doubling the top in order to obtain very nice finishes at the neckline and armholes. For the skirt part, different versions were possible depending on the number of gathered panels chosen. For my part, I chose the shorter length because I liked it. The dress was cut in size 38 (I didn’t make any changes to the pattern) and fits perfectly. Easy to wear in both summer and winter, it will look wonderful with sandals, trainers or with tights, ankle boots, a jacket or a large cardigan.
Sparrow Shirt in Mineral Blue Cactus

For Yannick’s shirt, I sewed it in our Cactus Mineral Blue viscose twill, this beautiful combination of blue-gray, navy blue and spicy pink.
This is the Maison Fauve Sparrow model that we both love to wear, so much so that I have already sewn several for him.
First, we really like the double placket that subtly hides our Navy Blue Essential buttons behind a contrasting faux tie effect, sewn into our navy blue viscose crepe fabric. I chose this color because it goes very well with the small patterns of our Mineral Blue Cactus. Then, in this model, we like the small wing collar with the contrasting stripe, which I also sewed in plain navy blue. To enhance everything, there is a very nice round pleat in the center of the back and some very nice cutouts that tighten the shirt just right. Finally, delicate trims with Cappuccino tabs are sewn onto the sleeves which we love. This project is a little technical to sew but the pattern explains the steps to follow very well. So by going slowly, taking your time, you will get there very easily.
My little tip: even if our Twill makes sewing shirts easier because its fluidity combines with an excellent hold, it will be necessary to iron the cuffs, collar and buttoning correctly.
House skirt in Cactus Terracotta
Finally, our version of Cactus Terracotta plays with Rust, Navy Blue and Mother of Pearl.
Mylène, who loves this variation, sewed herself an elasticated skirt. Quick and easy to sew, it always has little effect.
This skirt was cut from a homemade pattern, and unlike the shirt which is an advanced project for relatively experienced seamstresses, it’s ideal when you’re just starting to sew. Very simply, they are one or two rectangles (whichever you prefer depending on the fabrics) surrounding the waist. Short, long or knee-length, the length is fully adjustable according to your wishes. Once cut, we close the rectangle with a seam on the side, so as to create a cylinder. Then we fold an edge of 2-3 cm along the entire length, fasten with pins and sew this slide. After leaving a small hole, insert a rubber band using a safety pin into the slide. Here you can tighten the elastic as you wish. Finally, let’s make a small hem at the bottom and we have our skirt!
Very simple to sew, it’s a fun and quick project for all tastes, which will pair very well with a terracotta, mother of pearl, black or navy top!
